Hello again,

I'm running WindowFX 3.1 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit on a Turion64 2 GHz single-core cpu laptop with an ATi Radeon Xpress 1100.

Compiz effects on Linux run super-smoothly on this laptop both with the fglrx driver (yes, the Xpress 1100/1150 is supported) and the radeon driver.

Comparing Compiz "swaying" windows effect with WindowFXs, Compiz is far superior. WindowFXs effect doesn't render smoothly at all unfortunately.

video 2: WindowFX on Windows, opening Explorer window, swaying Explorer window, Note the black window frame display errors on first open of Explorer window. This always occurs with the first openend Explorer window after a boot only (WB team or WindowFX team take note! ).

video 3: Compiz on Ubuntu 8.10 with X.org 7.4 and radeon driver, swaying a text editor, maximizing, "normalizing" window

video 4: WindowFX on Windows, swaying an Explorer window, minimzing/maximizing with distort3 (this is smooth!! (using the right DirectX 9 update, dumb 3DMark06 installed a DirectX update which made performance unbearable))

Is it possible to improve in this regard? This is the only Stardock software I have performance problems with. Otherwise Stardock improves the Windows experience (may make it faster even) and is great value. I regard Stardock very highly.

Thanks

Lars
