Hi,

this is an old issue I remember having had with Windows Live applications and Windows Defender back when I used Vista x64.

Now it occurs with Windows XP:  the size of the very first opened window after a boot is smaller than it was when I last opened it. After some time without correction the window has shrunk to nothing.

I'd like to see this being corrected

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.3 (build 68 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

As chance of posting a scrrenshot?  What is the window?

on Nov 10, 2008

Hi, it's like the one below but it can be any window like the control panel ...: the first opened window after a boot is smaller than when it was last opened. Also there are black border remnants drawn inside the window.

by "smaller" I refer to there being less space to display the windows content: it's not that the window is squeezed. I also use WindowFX 3.1 but I think I have experienced this issue before using WFX.

planetLars you have another post describing problems with the Diamond WB.

You can try two things that might help.  One, the Diamond WB could be a bad download.  I would go into WB configuration change to a different WB and apply.  Then I would uniinstall the Diamond WB.  Run a cleen up program and reboot.  Reinstall  the Diamond WB and see if that doesn't help fix the problem.

If that doesn't that you might want to unintsall WindowBlinds.  Once again open WB configuration, change the WB to the default.  Uninstall WindowBlinds, run a clean up program and reboot.  Reinstall WindowBlinds and reboot one more time.  Open up WB configuration and try Diamond again.

If that still doesn't clear up the problem then you need to email support@stardock.com and give them a link to your two posts in the forums.

Hi, cleanly reinstalling WB is what I already did following a suggestion in my other post. I hoped Stardock cares for issues posted here too. I didn't want to bother their -excellent as far as my previous requests are concerned- support but I may do so now. Thanks!

Did you also do a clean install of the Diamond WindowBlind?

Also, you might consider posting these problems under Stardock Support in the forums.

clean install of Diamond skin: sort of: I forgot to delete the folder but I checked that all files were newly created on reinstallation. Thanks, I am currently writing a ticket to support.!

I suspect a video card issue.  Have you updated to the latest driver?

Have you updated to the latest driver?

I have, I'm running the 8.10 Catalyst drivers and the latest DirectX 9 updates. I don't experience other graphic issues besides the few ones with sd apps I mentioned in the forum.

It sounds like something on your machine is remembering window sizes and triggering this problem.

Do you have Windows Live Mesh client installed?

on Nov 15, 2008

I don't have Live Mesh and I'm not aware of any application which could do so. Also it occurs once after the boot only (but after every boot as stated already ).

solved by disabling per pixel skinning in WB.
